East Scotland Districts Championships

Grangemouth stadium was the venue on Friday night and all day Saturday for the East of Scotland Championships. There where many fine performances and a total of nine medals, including 6 Golds, 2 Silvers and one Bronze medal were heading back to Angus.
In the under 13 girls, Elita McFarlane won a Gold at discus - 16.53 and a Bronze at shot putt - 6.09, In the under 17 women, Iona Mcfarlane won Gold at discus - 24.48 and a Silver at pole vault - 2.20(club record). In the mens U17, Matthew Law also took Gold in discus - 37.56 and Joel McFarlne picked up Gold in javelin - 42.57 and Gold in long jump - 6.82(club record). At under 20 Eilidh de Klerk just missed out on a medal at the 200m - 25.95 and injury meant Liam Fotheringham was down on his best in the 200m - 24.72. At Senior level there was more success for Ellen Robertson with Silver in the triple jump - 10.94 and Chris Smith added to the medals with a Gold in the javelin - 51.40, Damien Murray had trouble with the wet conditions and had a best in the javelin of 37.56.
