Great results from Scottish Schools Championship

The club had a number of our athletes competing for their secondary schools at this weekends Scottish Schools Championship in Grangemouth Stadium. Bagging a fantastic total of 7 medals. In the under 15 girls (C) age group, Iona McFarlane collected Silver in the pole vault with 2.30m and then a 2nd Silver in the discus with 24.77m(pb). In the under 17 men (B) group, Joel McFarlane won the Gold in the 100m hurdles in 13.93s and also the Gold in the 400m hurdles in 57.03s in a new club record and then a third medal came in the long jump with 6.60m for Bronze. There was also a Bronze medal for Matthew Law in the discus with a throw of 35.24m . In the over 17 mens (A) age group Liam Fotheringham again broke his club record in the 200m to win Silver in 22.42s
Joel McFarlane was awarded the Ross Baillie trophy (for a 3rd time) for the best sprint hurdles performance of the championship and also the George Duncan Cup for the best performance over the distance hurdles for the whole championship.
